  Governing Body new Branch letter begging for donations !

  i just want the governing body to know how "happified" i am today.

  keep sending those branch letters to the congregation(s) about sending your donations in.

  not only did you humiliate the rank and file with your tony morris tight pants talk but now you are begging the same people you humiliated for money.

  WT has strict rules about the handling and audit of KH and AH funds and reports are to be done "just so". The dollars in the halls is carefully and publicly watched. The millions of dollars at the branch is all secret. They've sold Brooklyn properties for around $850,000,000. Many of those deals were done secretly without disclosure of amounts. Why? They've also sold lots of other branches. They've slashed the number of bethelites being supported. They've slashed the amount of printing. Then WT does a cash-grab of the congregation funds. How much money have they made/saved? Where is all that money going?

  There's the story of a rich, elderly widow who was known for her generosity to many organizations and causes. When she was sick and in the hospital, the administrators saw it as their opportunity to thank her for her support and mention how they could use help with the mounting costs. When they finished their pitch, she replied, "bring the books by my accountants, and we'll have a look at what we can do to help." Of course, they didn't really want to disclose how much money they were pocketing, so they went away empty-handed.

  And the story of Judas stealing from the money box is in the Bible for a reason. All that secrecy about funds at the top is prime for fraud.

  That might be an extreme. But the more common problems I saw included people getting married too young or too soon after not knowing the other person well. Two horny JWs rushing to a KH wedding isn't a recipe for a successful marriage. Or one horny JW marrying someone they think is sexy, but doesn't really like sex after they get married is a problem. Or telling a gay JW to repress that desire and marry a dub of the opposite sex for a "proper" sexual outlet leads to a lot of unhappiness and problems when the "same-sex attraction" isn't just a "passing phase".

  Or either a gay or straight JW living a sexless life because that would "make Jehovah happy," just leads to a lot of frustration. Nothing like walking around a Discrap Crapvention trying to hide a boner. Yeah, just try to pay attention to a boring talk about "brothers needing to reach out" when that thing in your pants is trying to reach out to that sister in the tight little dress a couple rows away. Yeah, I'd call that a problem.

  as we all know, the internet is a real game-changer in allowing us to know the truth about the watch tower and its history.

  i always had doubts and it was the internet that presented me with the ever-growing number of individuals who were going through a similar struggle.. i give the internet a 9 in my awakening.

  Facts from many sources were quicker and easier to find on the Interwebs than I ever could have looked up at the library. TONS of personal stories and experiences here on JWD/JWN and elsewhere. And support on the forums really helped me to make plans and get out. Of course the web has also immensely helped me complete my degree, which has been the exJW goldmine after getting decades of the JW shaft.

  I'm thrilled that WT is now encouraging the sheeple to use the Net. Although there is the mind-numbing JW.borg that is their official channel, they are all just a click away from finding TTATT.

  " 3/2015 study wt learn from illustration of talents par 13.. so there you have it, to get salvation you need to only obey the gb and if you obey and worship the gb, then you will be judged as a sheep.

  Indeed. WT condemns other religions for changing teachings, asking for money, and having a clergy class.

  But when WT changes teachings, asks for money, and has their elite clergy, those are all signs that they are the troo* religion(TM).

  *Coming soon. Due to lawsuits in some countries, JWs will be called the troo religion(TM) rather than the true religion.

  The logic of the farticle is flawed. If you accept a couple of their "facts" as valid, it doesn't lead to the conclusions they present.

  "Fact: In many cases, same-sex attraction is nothing more than a passing phase."

  Fact: "Many", "same-sex attraction", and "passing phase" are all vague. How many is "many"? Does "passing phase" mean 1 hour? 60 years? Somewhere in between? Isn't opposite-sex attraction also a "passing phase"? Sometimes I can be extremely attracted to the opposite sex, but after a "big finish", I find that my attraction to the opposite-sex fades, and I'm more interested in doing other things, even watch men play sports in tight uniforms (gasp)? Does that mean that if I'm not wanting to bone a woman all the time... I'm gay?

  "The fact is, millions of heterosexuals who wish to conform to the Bible’s standards employ self-control despite any temptations they might face."

  The fact is, for decades I conformed to WT standards and resisted all sexual temptations (okay, except for masturbation and sometimes porn). What a truly miserable life that was. But then I joined the billions who cast off the shackles of religious oppression, guilt, and sexual dysfunction. Once I found my "new normal," I seem to think about sex less than I did as a JW. Oh the terrible memories of being a horned-up JW with no acceptable outlet except to go through the ackward JW courtship procedure, finally get married, and then find myself frustrated with a frigid pioneer.

  "...if they truly want to please God."

  The fact is, WT's God is never pleased. Fact: If a homosexual lives a sexless life, they will then need to "do more for Jehovah" in order to "truly please God." More is always demanded. The only formula for pleasing him, I found, was that I had to be unhappy, unfullfilled, slaving away at WT worthless works, but with a fake smile painted on the outside. What a terrible God that WT Corporation has designed, he's always angry and demanding. You're supposed to pray to him, but I found it a complete waste of time. And he didn't make just humans with sexual overdrive that has to be self-controlled, even the angels were made with a sexual desire for women. What? The angels didn't even want to have sex with each other, they ("many" of them) were made with a fetish for females of the human species. What kind of God creates, then condemns these things?

  Fact: That article raises more questions than it answers.

  my granddaughter has been free from the wt cult since oct of '13.

  she has never had really bad grades in school but never was a straight a student - until now!!!

  Maybe it would be better if people that believe in God wouldn't marry or have children. WT had pretty well convinced me that my time would be better spent serving God (more specifically, his earthly organization), rather than wasting time and money on starting a family.

  i feel bad that i was not able to let my kids enjoy christmas.

  i think it has alot to do with how you were raised.

  for some i know christmas was not that big a deal.

  Let's compare:

  A) Tell children there is a Santa, and later they find out the presents came from Mom and Dad instead.

  B) Tell the children that Armageddon is so close that they'll never graduate from school, get a job, get married, raise a family. Then when the kid is about 40 he finally realizes the WT was completely full of lies and he decides to leave it all behind and finally get a degree and career, then decide at this late date if he still wants to get married and have a family.

  I'm living option B. In retrospect, I would have chosen option A. If I decide to have my own kids, I'm going to take my chances on option A with them.
